Tez (Yüksek Lisans) -- İstanbul Teknik Üniversitesi, Fen Bilimleri Enstitüsü, 2003Thesis (M.Sc.) -- İstanbul Technical University, Institute of Science and Technology, 2003Bu çalışmada, Diffserv mimarisi ile internet üzerinde servis kalitesi sağlama tartışılmıştır. Son on yılda IP tabanlı internette servis kalitesi sağlanamıyordu. İnternette bugün sağlanabilen tek servis ‘Best Effort (BE)’ adı verilen servistir. In this study improving Quality of Service (QoS) on the Internet with DiffServ architecture is discussed. Within the past decade, it is certainly not support for Quality of Service (QoS) over the IP-based ubiquitous Internet. The Internet as it stands today only support one service class called -Best-Effort (BE) Service. The network would make an earnest attempt to deliver packets to their destinations but with no guarantees and/or special resources allocated for any of the packets. With another words, traffic is processed as quickly as possible but there is no guarantee as to timeliness or actual delivery or even how much can be delivered (i.e. throughput). With the rapid transformation of the Internet into a commercial infrastructure, demands for Quality of Service (QoS) have rapidly developed. This need was resulted to different architectures: IntServ and DiffServ. In the study some DiffServ implementations are discussed with their problems and gains. At the last section with using NS2 simulation programming language some DiffServ implementations are given with the compared results.Yüksek LisansM.Sc

The prioritisation of service dimensions in logistics centres: a fuzzy quality function deployment methodology.

    No full text
This study takes a customer focus that prioritises the service-offering dimensions of logistics centres (LCs) by considering potential LC customer expectations. Applying a survey and a quality function deployment methodology to logistics service providers, the study explores, categorises and prioritises LC customer expectations and LC service characteristics. The results indicate that customer preferences mainly prioritise infrastructure, and warehouse and intermodal dimensions. However, when the cost dimension is included, higher utility values are delivered through soft service dimensions like value-added or standard services. LC investors or undertakers can use these results to guide their design of market offerings by using the same methodology to assess expectations in their target markets

Objectives: We evaluated disease-specific health status prior to and after septoplasty in patients with nasal septal deviation (NSD), and sought correlation between diagnosis and laboratory findings (anterior rhinomanometry and computed tomography). Patients and Methods: The study included 39 patients (8 females, 31 males; mean age 41 years; range 18 to 59 years) with a diagnosis of NSD. Prior to septoplasty, all patients were evaluated by coronal paranasal sinus computed tomography (CT), anterior rhinomanometry and the Nasal Obstruction Symptom Evaluation (NOSE) scale. Rhinomanometry and the NOSE scale were repeated three months after septoplasty. Results: Compared to the preoperative values, the patients exhibited a significant decrease in NOSE scores, and in rhinomanometry, significantly increased nasal airflow and decreased total nasal airway resistance (p0.05). Conclusion: The NOSE scale is a reliable test to assess health status of patients with nasal obstruction symptoms. The diagnosis of NSD does not require rhinomanometry or computed tomography

Ensemble Detection: A New Architecture for MultiSensor Data Fusion with Ensemble Learning for Object Detection

    No full text
In this work, we propose a framework for multimodal data fusion at decision level under a multilayer hierarchical ensemble learning architecture. The architecture provides a generative discriminative model for probability density estimations and decreases the entropy of the data throughout the vector spaces. The architecture is implemented for human motion detection problem, where the motion analysis problem is formulated as a multi-class classification problem on audio-visual data. The vector space transformations are analyzed by the investigation of probability density and entropy transitions of data across the levels. The architecture provides an efficient sensor fusion framework for the robotics research, object classification, target detection and tracking applications

Azathioprine-induced liver injury in a patient with multiple autoimmune syndrome

Extraintestinal manifestations are frequent in patients with ulcerative colitis. They are most commonly associated with active bowel disease but can also occur prior to bowel disease or during a period of remission. The disease often requires long-term therapy. The tolerability of drugs is essential for the comprehensive management of patients. Azathioprine is considered an indispensable drug for the treatment of severe ulcerative colitis patients. It is used to prevent relapse or to treat patients who are refractory to corticosteroids. We report a patient who had alopecia areata, vitiligo, recurrent episcleritis, ulcerative colitis and azathioprine-induced liver injury, and review the related literature
